How do you know your hearing loss?

Hearing loss is the most widespread sensory organ disease in the world, and its negative impact is at the top of the global burden of disease (GBD) ranking, so ear and hearing care has become a global public health concern. 

WHO is the international organization responsible for global health, and the WHO has established the following hearing loss levels, this standard are applicable to adults, please check the details as follow.

 

1. Normal Hearing, -10~20dB, people can hear very well in quite and noise environment

 

2. Mild Hearing loss, 20~40dB, people can hear well in quite environment, but some time may can’t hear very well in the noise environment.

 

3. Moderate Hearing Loss, 40~55dB, people may can’t hear very clear in the quite environment, need the speaker speak louder; and in the noise environment people can’t hear well, need speak louder to raise the volume.

 

4. Moderately Severe Hearing Loss, 55~70dB, can’t hear well in normal volume when it is in the quite environment; it is very hard to hear in the noise environment.  

 

5. Severe Hearing Loss, 70~90dB, can’t most of voices, it is hard to hear when the speaker speak louder in the quite environment; people can’t hear in the noise environment.

 

6. Profound Hearing Loss, >90dB, it is totally can’t hear in both quite and noise environment.

 





 

 

When you find the you have problem for hearing, you can check your hearing level as above standard. And we suggest you contact with your audiologist in time, have a hearing test and final confirm your hearing loss, audiologist can recommend a most suitable solution (such as wearing hearing aids)for you, do the adjust according to your audiogram to help you get a best hearing experience. The most important is when you find that you have problem for hearing, you should go to hearing clinic or hearing center earlier, then you can protect your hearing better, it too late, it will go to the deeper hearing loss.
